400×310 mm – Ø32 mm 7-bar neodymium grid (grate) magnet is a hygienic solution engineered to reduce ferromagnetic contamination in gravity-flowing powders and granules (hopper, chute, discharge spout, plansifter outlet) such as spices, cocoa, powdered sugar and flour/semolina. As product flows through the grate, fine wires, swarf and small metal particles are captured at high-field zones around the bars, improving product quality, extending equipment life and simplifying audits with better traceability.

Why 400×310 mm, Ø32 mm, 7 Bars?

Food and spice lines feature continuous, often irregular flow; sieving, grinding, conveying and packaging steps carry metal-ingress risk. The 400×310 mm frame drops into many industrial chutes and spouts. A grate built with seven Ø32 mm neodymium bars efficiently scans the flow cross-section. Typical ~9–10 kGauss surface strength in the capture zone supports high efficiency on fine particles. a ~25 mm clear opening (between bar faces) balances low flow resistance with strong capture performance.

How It Works

Product passes by gravity through the bar array. Ferromagnetic particles are sensitive to magnetic field gradients and are drawn to the bar surfaces in the ~9–10 kGauss near-surface region. At planned intervals the flow is paused; the grate is removed and deposits are cleaned using a dry method (brush/wipe) or washed with food-grade detergent and rinsed. This manual-clean routine requires no consumables and keeps downtime short. (Recommended maximum operating temperature: ≤80 °C.)

Hygienic, Durable Construction

The frame and sleeves are stainless steel—standard SS304, with SS316L available for aggressive CIP/chemicals. The bar sleeves use a thin wall (typically ~0.6 mm) for strong field at the surface while keeping a smooth, cleanable finish. Each bar is built with high-performance NdFeB (N35) ring stacks. The grate is listed as “leak-tight, all-stainless and food-safe,” facilitating CCP placement in BRC/HACCP plans.

Sizing & Integration

This 400×310 mm grate works in vertical or inclined lines—post-sieve/grinding, before packaging, at chute or hopper outlets. Mounting is straightforward with M8 countersunk hole patterns. Depending on flow (rate, particle size, moisture, tendency to bridge) and expected metal load, the bar count/spacing and grate layers can be customized. Choose a free-fall geometry and angle that avoid bridging. (Typical capture distance: 0–5 cm, application-dependent.)

Key Advantages

  • High capture efficiency: ~9–10 kGauss near the surface—effective on fine swarf and wire fragments.
  • Hygiene & safety: Stainless sleeves, smooth and leak-tight construction for food contact.
  • Low operating cost: No consumables; quick manual cleaning reduces downtime.
  • Flexible configuration: Frame size, bar layout and material (304/316L) can be tailored to the line.
  • Wide applicability: Easy drop-in integration on spice, cocoa, powdered sugar, flour/semolina, starch and premix lines.

Cleaning & Maintenance (Recommended)

  1. Safely stop the flow and empty any product column in the chute.
  2. Remove the grate; clean deposits from bar surfaces using a dry method (brush/wipe).
  3. If required, wash with food-grade detergent and rinse; do not exceed 80 °C.
  4. Dry thoroughly, reinstall the grate and verify alignment/leak-tightness.
  5. During initial weeks, check more frequently to establish the optimal cleaning interval based on product changeovers and metal load.

Quality & Certification

Grates can be validated with Gauss measurement in line with food-safety programs (BRC/HACCP). On request we provide Gauss and material certificates; maintenance records (cleaning dates, observations, measurements) support traceability during audits.

Technical Summary

  • Frame size: 400 × 310 mm (rectangular grate)
  • Bars: 7 × Ø32 mm stainless sleeves (typical wall ~0.6 mm
  • Magnet type: NdFeB N35 ring stacks • Surface strength: ~9–10 kGauss
  • Max temperature: ≤80 °C (SH grades available for higher-temp needs)
  • Materials: SS304 standard (SS316L optional) • Build: Leak-tight, all-stainless

Important: Magnetic separation acts only on ferromagnetic particles; non-ferromagnetic metals such as aluminium or copper are not held magnetically. If required, combine with mechanical screening or a metal detector.

Conclusion: The 400×310 mm – Ø32 mm 7-bar neodymium grid magnet is a hygienic, leak-tight and easy-to-maintain solution to reduce metal risk, lift product quality and enhance process safety on powder lines. With 304/316L stainless options, ~9–10 kGauss surface strength and a 7-bar layout, it fits a wide range of applications; bar configuration and dimensions can be customized to your line conditions.
