Magnetic Coupling Magnet

Magnetic coupling and brake systems are solutions that enable the contactless transmission of linear or rotary motion. These systems consist of two main parts: the driver and the follower. The driver section is connected to the motor and, thanks to the magnetic field it generates, moves the follower part without physical contact. Thus, mechanical energy is transferred without any mechanical connection.

When permanent neodymium magnets are used in the system, no external electrical energy is required.

The number of magnets and the torque value achieved can be customized according to the application requirements and customer requests.


Advantages of Contactless Power Transmission

  1. Magnetic coupling systems offer many advantages thanks to contactless power transmission:
  2. They reduce or completely eliminate vibrations through magnetic damping.
  3. They provide physical isolation between the motor and the load.
  4. They offer high tolerance against axial, radial, and angular misalignment errors.
  5. Supports speed control and adjustment between the motor and load.


How to Select the Right Clamping Magnet?

When selecting a coupling magnet, the operating environment temperature, friction conditions, and the maximum temperature the system can reach must be considered. The type of magnet to be used is determined based on these criteria:

  1. NdFeB (Neodymium): Suitable for temperatures up to 150°C. Requires protection against corrosion.
  2. SmCo (Samarium Cobalt): Withstands temperatures up to 350°C. Corrosion protection is optional.
  3. Ceramic (Ferrite): Can be used at temperatures up to 250°C. Does not require corrosion protection.

Selecting the appropriate magnet is critical for system performance and longevity.
