Strong Neodymium Magnetic Coupling Magnet
Magnetic clutch and brake systems are solutions that provide non-contact transmission of linear or rotary motion. These systems consist of two main parts: the driver (driver) and the follower (follower). The drive section is connected to the motor, and thanks to the magnetic field it creates, the follower activates the part without physical contact. Thus, mechanical energy is transferred without any mechanical connection.
When permanent neodymium magnets are used in the system, no external electrical energy is required.
The number of magnets and the torque value to be obtained can be customized according to the application requirements and customer demands.
Advantages of Contactless Power Transmission
Magnetic coupling systems offer numerous advantages through contactless power transmission:
- Reduces or completely eliminates vibrations through magnetic damping effect.
- Provides physical isolation between the motor and the load.
- Offers high tolerance against axial, radial, and angular alignment errors.
- Supports speed control and adjustment between the motor and load.
How to Choose the Right Grip Magnet?
When selecting a gripper magnet, the operating environment temperature, friction conditions, and the maximum temperature the system can reach must be taken into account. Based on these criteria, the type of magnet to be used is determined:
- NdFeB (Neodymium): Suitable for temperatures up to 150°C. Requires corrosion protection.
- SmCo (Samarium Cobalt): Durable up to 350°C. Corrosion protection is optional.
- Ceramic (Ferrite): Can be used up to 250°C. Does not require corrosion protection.
The selection of the appropriate magnet is critical for system performance and longevity.
