EDM 6 Handheld Demagnetization Device
EDM 6 Handheld Demagnetization Device
What is Demagnetization?
Demagnetization is the process of eliminating or reducing magnetic effects on a material.
Application Areas and Importance
In production processes, for example, during machining, welding, spot welding, pressing, transportation operations or machine equipment, it is necessary to eliminate the remaining magnetization on the surfaces of products. Because excessive magnetization on the surface can negatively affect product quality in subsequent production stages. For example, this condition can cause metal powders to be attracted to the surface, which leads to poor-quality coating processes. Additionally, excessive magnetization during welding can prevent the weld from being properly formed.
Required Values for Demagnetization
When the magnetization value on the material surface exceeds 5 Gauss, the material must be demagnetized.
Handheld Demagnetization Device
The portable handheld demagnetization device reduces excess magnetization on material surfaces to 0-5 Gauss levels. This device, which is effective on materials up to 20 mm thick, can be easily used in different areas thanks to its portability. It operates with 220V AC power from the city grid and can be manufactured in custom sizes and dimensions according to requirements. The demagnetization process is performed by gently moving the material over the device.
Operating Principle of the Device:
The Portable Handheld Demagnetization Device operates on the city power grid. When the device's switch is turned on, the device becomes active. The materials that need to be demagnetized are placed on the device surface and gently slid across it. The products are demagnetized by moving back and forth on the device. This process can be repeated as many times as necessary.
How It Works:
The device is protected by a temperature sensor, but it should not be left on continuously. It is recommended to turn it off after the use is completed. When the device overheats, it disconnects the circuit and does not work. Once cooled, it can be started again.
The device should not be used on steels thicker than 20 mm that have been heat treated and have formed surfaces. In such materials, residual magnetization may remain on the surface. To minimize this issue, you can repeat the process by reversing the material and slowing down the processing speed.
