The drum magnet allows for easy separation of magnetic and non-magnetic materials within raw materials. Magnetic drums are used to separate iron-containing materials from non-magnetic materials. These drum separators are highly secure systems. With their special magnet system, they completely capture iron and metal pieces, acting as versatile magnetic separators.

Applications in Iron and Steel Production

Iron and steel manufacturers use these separators to clean unwanted non-ferrous materials, such as those in scrap. This cleaning process increases the purity of the scrap. Conveyor belt systems are used to separate ferromagnetic materials within products. The magnetic drum is installed in place of the drive pulley and added to the end of the belt. This allows metal particles to be separated without an additional process.

Magnetic and Non-Magnetic Material Separation

The captured metals are deposited into a separate compartment thanks to the pallets on the drum. Non-magnetic materials remaining on the belt are transferred to another compartment.

Magnetic drums can be manufactured in non-standard dimensions, different capacities and magnetic strengths according to customer requirements. The minimum ferrous particle size that can be captured is 0.03 mm and/or 0.05 mm.

The drum magnet can be produced from AISI 304 stainless steel or AISI 316L stainless steel and features a sandblasted surface finish. The manufacturing tolerance is ±3 mm.
