Magnetic Overband Separator for Cement Production Lines

In cement factories, metal contaminants can easily mix into clinker, limestone, clay, and various materials transported on belt conveyors. In such cases, these metals must be separated immediately. Otherwise, tramp iron and metal pieces can cause severe damage to equipment like crushers, mills, elevators, and conveyor belt systems. This can result in millions of dollars in financial damage and bring production to a complete halt. For large-scale factories, production downtime is highly undesirable. The magnetic overband separator we have developed for these situations is the most effective solution to eliminate metals from your line.

The magnetic plate we manufacture using ferrite magnets is mounted above the belt to provide automatic cleaning of the system. This system captures metals and transfers them from the end of the belt to a designated collection area. Constructed with a stainless steel exterior, the plate magnet provides permanent magnetic power, meaning it does not require any electrical power to generate its magnetic field. However, the motor installed to drive the self-cleaning belt operates on electricity. The system is long-lasting and requires virtually no maintenance; only the belt may need replacement over time due to wear from intensive use. Regardless of your material types, your products should flow through an automated system. By mounting this plate magnet over your existing conveyor belt, it ensures all hazardous metals are efficiently drawn out of your products.


How Does Automatic Cleaning Work?

This product is specifically engineered for a 1200 mm belt width and features a suspension height of 35 cm. Thanks to the high magnetic field intensity generated by the system, it securely captures ferromagnetic particles (such as iron, steel, wires, screws, bolts, sheet metal fragments, etc.) within the material flow. The attracted metal parts are continuously carried away by the automatic cleaning belt on the separator and are discharged at a designated point (either to the side or into a separate collection hopper). This eliminates the need for manual cleaning, making the process much safer, more efficient, and sustainable. While maintenance and cleaning times are significantly reduced, occupational safety is highly enhanced.


Production According to Technical Drawings

All of our production processes are carried out strictly based on technical drawings. For your custom manufacturing requests, a technical drawing is first prepared and presented for your evaluation. Connection types, dimensions, and all scale sizes are finalized on the technical drawing, and production begins only after receiving your official approval.


Technical Details

The mounting holes of the plate magnet can be customized and specified according to the purchasing company's technical requirements. The minimum catchable iron (Fe) particle size is 0.05 mm (50 microns). The surface sheet of the plate magnet can be fabricated from AISI 304 or AISI 316L quality stainless steel with a sandblasted finish. The connection surface is painted. It can also be completely manufactured from stainless steel upon request. Handles made of chrome or bakelite can be integrated into the design. The standard manufacturing tolerance value is ±3 mm.
